Privacy Policy

Overview

Bike Archive is a free reference database operated by Hank Bicycle Company, LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Utah, USA, which is the data controller for the limited information described below. Browsing the site, searching for bicycles, and using the calculators (Spoke Calculator, Gear Ratio Calculator, and similar tools) does not require creating an account, and we do not ask visitors for personal information to use these features.

Information we collect

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically logs standard request data for operational purposes — IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent, and referrer. This is used only for debugging, abuse prevention, and understanding aggregate traffic. It is not used to build profiles of individual visitors.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly web analytics to understand overall traffic patterns (e.g. which pages are popular). This analytics method does not use cookies or any client-side state to track individual visitors across sessions, and does not sell or share data with advertisers.

Contact and correction emails

If you email us (for corrections, contact, or removal requests), we retain that correspondence only as long as needed to address it.

Cookies

Bike Archive does not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies. Public visitors browsing the site and using the tools are not given any cookies, and the Cloudflare analytics described above are cookieless.

The only cookie the site sets is a strictly necessary, HTTP-only session cookie issued when a site administrator signs in to manage the database. It exists solely to keep that administrator logged in for the duration of their session, is never used for visitor tracking, and is never sent to public visitors.

Because no non-essential cookies are used, the site does not show a cookie consent banner.

What we don't do

• We don't run third-party advertising trackers
• We don't sell or rent visitor data to anyone
• We don't use cross-site tracking cookies

Third-party infrastructure

The site is hosted on Railway and served through Cloudflare, and images are delivered via Cloudflare Images. These providers process standard request data (like IP addresses) as part of delivering the site to you, under their own respective privacy practices.

Children's privacy

Bike Archive is a general-audience reference site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
